Unscented Lard Dish Soap Set

Great for cast iron

New!

Real soap made from our forest-raised lard. No fragrance, no essential oils, no detergents. Comes with a soap bowl and scrub brush, so it's ready to go right by the sink.

You know the rule. No soap on cast iron. Just wipe it out or give it a scrub with salt or stainless steel.

But what about when you make a pan sauce and it really needs a washing?

That's what this is for. Seasoning holds onto whatever touches it, including the chemicals and fake lemon smell in regular dish soap. Our unscented lard dish soap gets your skillet clean without leaving any of that behind. And it's made from the same kind of fat folks have seasoned cast iron with for generations (honestly, we probably should have named it Cast Iron Soap - too late!).

It's also just plain satisfying to use. Swipe the brush across the bar and you get a thick lather that keeps going, way longer than a squirt of soap on a sponge. Then scrub. The brush gets into the grooves of your cutting board, around the rims of jars, and down into the corners of your baking dishes. Stuck-on food doesn't stand a chance.

Plates, cups, the kids' water bottles... everything comes out squeaky clean. No synthetic detergents leaving a film on the stuff you eat off of.

Sensitive to scents or essential oils? This one's for you. It's completely unscented, so there's nothing to irritate your skin or linger on your dishes.

What's in the set

  • Unscented lard dish soap
  • Soap bowl to keep it by the sink
  • Hand brush for scrubbing

How to use it

Wet the brush, rub it on the soap, and scrub. For cast iron, rinse, dry the pan right away, and wipe on a thin coat of fat like you normally would. Let the soap dry out in its bowl between uses so it lasts longer.

Real soap, made the old way: fat plus lye (the lye gets used up turning fat into soap - none is left in the finished bar). Made in small batches, right here locally.
