Hickory Smoked Ham with Honey Dijon Glaze
March 12, 2026 • 0 comments
Caramelizes beautifully in the oven. The glaze is sweet and tangy with a little kick from the dijon, and it creates this gorgeous golden crust over the smoky, salty ham. Made with our naturally cured ham roast (just sea salt and hickory smoke... no weird stuff). All natural ingredients, easy to make, and perfect for Easter dinner when you want something that looks and tastes impressive without a ton of work.
Ingredients
- (1) Hickory Ham Roast
- (1/2 cup) Raw Honey, 1lb
- (1/4 cup) Dijon Mustard
- (1/2 cup) Panela, Sucanat, or Brown Sugar
- (1-2 Tbsp) Lemon Juice - fresh is always better!
Directions
- Whisk all ingredients for the glaze together (it's everything except the ham).
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Place the ham in a roasting pan and loosely tent with foil. Bake for 30 mins at 325°F until warmed but not fully cooked.
- Remove ham from the oven and brush the first layer of glaze over the entire ham.
- Increase oven temperature to 375°F.
- Brush glaze every 10–15 mins while cooking until internal temp reaches 145°F (12–15 min per pound).
Let ham rest 10–15 min before serving.
Notes & Tips
- Our ham is already pre-scored in a diamond pattern. If desired, you can lightly run a knife along the cuts to help the glaze settle in.
- Applying multiple layers of glaze creates a caramelized exterior and balanced sweet and tangy flavor.
- This ham pairs beautifully with classic sides like scalloped potatoes, roasted carrots with honey and thyme, green beans, or sweet potato casserole. For something lighter, try a simple green salad, roasted asparagus, or glazed Brussels sprouts. Comfort favorites like mac and cheese, baked beans, or cornbread work great too. And if you're looking for make-ahead options, roasted root vegetables or deviled eggs are perfect. The ham is rich and flavorful, so it goes well with both hearty comfort sides and lighter, fresher dishes. Mix and match based on what your family likes.
